This “virtual tour” highlights the attractions around Hayden Island and the Columbia River. Some 25 different attractions are highlighted in this tour. Here’s the completed Virtual Tour I made for our neighborhood association and a Google Earth Tour of the region (below).
The Google Earth Tour works best on a desktop computer. Below is a tour of Waterfront Vancouver, the new development along the Columbia, opposite Hayden Island.
How it works
The signs use Quick Response (QR) codes, so your phone’s camera can automatically scan in the appropriate URL. The Near Field Communications tags use a small antenna built into most Android devices as well as IOS devices (after the iPhone 7). Both technologies direct you to this website without typing.
